Hi! I'm Katie Linder. Here's a little information to help you get to know me better. Adams Central and Ball State University are my alma maters. In 2007 I became a teacher and have been teaching in grades K, 1, 2, or Title I Reading ever since. In 2010, I received my master's from Ball State. I have taught in Ossian, Decatur, and now, Monroe. I love teaching first graders and am most passionate about teaching reading.
My husband, Ben, and I live in Monroe with our two kids, Lexi and Luke. Ben is an Aerospace Technical Sales Engineer for Trelleborg Sealing Solutions. Lexi is in third grade and likes slime and hip hop dancing. Luke is in first grade and loves flag football, basketball, baseball, and soccer. I love spending time with my family! We enjoy going on family trips, bike rides around Monroe, and cheering on the Jets. Go Big Red!!
Every year, since I began teaching, I have had all of my students sign their names in my journal. I love looking back at that journal each year, knowing I will never forget my former students. They may not know it, but I learn a lot from them, and they become very special to me! My favorite memories are of students who were looking for ways to improve, learn, and grow in their reading. Watching first graders become independent readers makes my job fun!
