Hi! I'm Katie Linder. Here's a little information about me! Adams Central and Ball State University are my alma maters. In 2007 I became a teacher and have been teaching in grades K, 1, 2, or Title I Reading ever since. In 2010, I received my master's from Ball State. I have taught in Ossian, Decatur, and now, Monroe. I LOVE teaching first graders and am most passionate about teaching reading.
My husband, Ben, and I live in Monroe with our two kids, Lexi and Luke. Ben is a Global Account Director for Boyd Corporation. Lexi is in seventh grade and loves math, singing, dancing and pickleball. Luke is in fifth grade and loves baseball, football, and hanging out with friends. We have a little blonde, ten-pound Shih Tzu named Winnie. She is 7 years old and sweet as can be; she makes us laugh everyday! I love spending time with my family. We enjoy going on family trips to Hilton Head, taking bike rides around Monroe, going on short walks with Winnie, going to Christian concerts, and cheering on the Jets. Go Big Red!!
Every year, since I began teaching, I have had all of my students sign their names in my journal. I love looking back at that journal each year, knowing I will never forget any of my former students. They may not realize it, but I learn a lot from them, and they become very special to me! I believe we were each brought together for a reason. It is an honor to be a small part of your child's elementary education at A.C. My favorite memories are of students who were looking for ways to improve their reading. Watching first graders become independent readers makes my job fun!
A few of my favorite things...
Color - Purple
Sports - Golf and Tennis
City - Paris
Candy - Reese's Peanut Butter - White Chocolate
Store - Target
Restaurants - Chick-fil-A and Olive Garden
Shaka Shack Drink - Vanilla Latte
